Environ was founded by renowned South African plastic surgeon Dr. Des Fernandes. This is a highly effective range of natural products and treatments that can produce dramatic results. The range uses high concentrations of absorbable fresh vitamins A, C, E and beta-carotene to regenerate, rehydrate and repair any skin condition from fine lines, sun damage, sensitivity, acne or to simply maintain that healthy glowing skin.

• Environ Ionzyme Vitamin Facial

The Ionzyme Machine, probably the most effective machine in the world today for enhanced penetration of vitamins into the skin. Vitamins A and C are essential for the maintain of a healthy and youthful skin. This revolutionary system enhances the penetration of vitamins contained in the Environ skin care products ensuring optimum effective results.

The Ionzyme Machine employs the combination of two highly sophisticated scientific methods:
Low Frequency Sonophoresis – involving the use of sound waves to transput vitamin molecules through the skin. Low frequency sonophoneus is up to a thousand times more effective than the conventional ultrasound.
Pulsed Iontophoresis – involving the use of a specifically pulsed electrical current to facilitate greater penetration of vitamins into the skin.

Using only the freshest and most active forms of vitamin A, C or lactic acid, this treatment results in the greatest penetration of active molecules through the skin to stimulate collagen production, hydrate, reduce pigmentation and scarring and normalise skin cells. As this is an intensive treatment it is essential that the skin is well prepared with the Environ homecare system beforehand.

• Acne

There are many myths about the cause of acne. Some people think that the incidence of acne is higher if you eat foods like chocolate or French fries. Others think that the presence of acne is due to poor hygiene. Neither is true.

Acne is caused by the body’s increased production of the hormone androgen (produced by both men and women), which stimulates the sebaceous glands to produce more oil. The increased production of oil causes the pores to become blocked, so that the oil cannot come up to the skin surface. The acne itself is an infection caused by skin bacteria that feed on and break down this oil.

As the bacteria multiply, waste products and sebacic acid are created, and the sebaceous gland becomes inflamed – causing what is known as a blackhead, a whitehead or a pimple.

A manual treatment specifically designed for problem skins using mild forms of lactic acid which help to:

• Control and remove the build up of dead cells on the surface of the skin

• Ellipse IPL Acne Treatment

Ellipse acne treatment is aimed specifically at the treatment of superficial inflammatory acne. The acne treatment works in 2 ways:

• The light targets the porphynins produced by the bacteria that cause the acne, destruction of these porphyrus will produce free oxygen radicals and a bacterial effect is induced to reduce the acne infection.
• The light is also absorbed by the haemoglobin in the superficial blood vessels that supply the sebaceous glands and destruction of these which slows down the over production of oil that leads to acne. The heat reaction produced will also stimulate collagen production to increase healing of the acne lesnns and may even soften the appearance of scarring.
  Clients with permanent acne will benefit from the treatment. The best results are achieved on inflammatory acne – best know as those red, aching, round pimples.

A full consultation and patch test must be performed prior to having acne treatments.
We recommend you also pre-test your skin with Vitamin A at least 3 weeks prior to starting the treatment to achieve best results.

• Facial Thread Veins

You don’t have to cover your thread veins anymore. Ellipse uses short, safe bursts of light emitted from a flash-lamp to quickly remove those thin veins from your face.

A thread vein is a small blood vessel near the surface of the skin. Blood contains haemoglobin that absorbs the light and converts it into heat. This heat destroys the protein in the wall of the thread vein. As a result a result the veins will gradually and safely disappear after treatment.

The number of treatments depends on the severity of the thread vein. Clinical studies have confirmed that 1-4 treatments usually are needed and these are timed about one month apart.

• Skin Rejuvenation

Skin Rejuvenation treatment with Ellipse IPL helps you keep a younger and fresher look. The safe visible light emitted from the Ellipse flash-lamp makes your face look smoother by removing age spots and diffuse redness and by improving your skin texture. Uneven pigmentation is also reduced.

Age spots and hyper pigmentation contains melanin and diffuse redness contains haemoglobin. The light is absorbed into the melanin and haemoglobin in the skin. This will cause a heat reaction within the cells that contain melanin and haemoglobin and therefore destroy them.

On average 1-3 treatments are needed for the best results.
